Go Local Ad Co-Op
The Go Local Advertising Co-Op
We created the Go Local Advertising Co-Op to give independent businesses some of the same collective advertising power that franchises and national companies already enjoy.
Participating businesses contribute $100 per month to a shared advertising fund.
Every penny of that money goes back into advertising participating local businesses.
The co-op funds advertising through:
- Radio
- Television
- Billboards
- Mobile digital billboard trucks
- Social media
- Digital advertising
- Community events
- Local promotions
- GLTV
- Other campaigns designed to drive customers to participating businesses
The co-op contribution is not profit for Go Local.
It is an advertising investment made by local businesses for the benefit of local businesses.
To provide complete transparency, participating businesses receive an independently prepared monthly statement showing how the co-op advertising dollars were spent.
The power comes from doing together what most small businesses could never afford to do alone.
One hundred businesses contributing $100 each creates a $10,000 monthly local advertising fund.
Five hundred participating businesses create a $50,000 monthly advertising fund.
One thousand businesses working together create a local advertising force capable of competing at an entirely different level.
Bringing Franchise-Level Rewards to Small Businesses
Advertising is only one advantage national companies have.
Another is customer loyalty.
Major chains use rewards programs to encourage customers to return again and again. Their large networks allow them to spread the cost of technology, advertising and customer retention across thousands of locations.
Most independent businesses cannot afford to build that kind of system by themselves.
So we built one for them.
Go Local Rewards is a shared rewards network designed specifically for independently owned businesses.
Customers earn rewards by shopping with participating local merchants. Those rewards remain inside the Go Local network and encourage customers to visit other participating local businesses.
A customer might earn rewards at a local restaurant and later use them at a local florist, boutique, coffee shop, auto repair facility or another participating business.
Instead of rewarding customers for returning to national chains, we reward them for continuing to shop locally.
That keeps more money circulating inside our community.
Merchants Stay in Control
Every business is different.
A restaurant may have room to offer a larger reward than a grocery store. A business may need more customers on Tuesday afternoon but already have more business than it can handle on Saturday evening.
Go Local Rewards does not force every merchant into the same promotion.
From the merchant dashboard, participating businesses can change their reward in real time and offer anywhere from 5% to 100% back.
A restaurant might offer 25% rewards on a slow Tuesday night but only 5% on a busy Saturday.
A retailer might increase its reward while clearing inventory.
A service business might offer a larger reward during a traditionally slow season.
The merchant decides what makes sense.
Your business. Your margins. Your decision.
Turning First-Time Visitors Into Repeat Customers
Bringing a customer through the door is only the beginning.
One of the greatest opportunities inside Go Local Rewards is the ability for merchants to reconnect with customers who visited through the platform.
Traditionally, a customer visits a local business, makes a purchase, leaves and the owner simply hopes that person returns.
Go Local Rewards gives the merchant an opportunity to continue that relationship.
A merchant can:
- Send a thank-you message after a customer's first visit
- Offer a free appetizer, dessert or another gift on the next visit
- Recognize a customer's birthday or anniversary
- Invite customers back for a new product or menu item
- Contact customers who have not returned in 30, 60 or 90 days
- Reward frequent visitors and top customers
- Send offers manually or allow selected campaigns to run automatically
- Import an existing permission-based customer list and market to those customers through the platform
Instead of hoping customers remember the business, the merchant can invite them back.
Because the easiest customer to earn is often the one who already knows, likes and trusts you.
Customer retargeting is included free for each merchant's first year. After that, it is available as an optional service for $99 per month.
A Business Model Built Around Shared Success
Go Local earns a 5% success fee on purchases generated through the Go Local Rewards platform.
That means our interests are aligned with the merchant.
We do not succeed by simply selling a business an advertisement and walking away.
We succeed when customers visit participating businesses, spend money and return.
When local businesses grow, Go Local grows.
Our Mission
We did not create Go Local to help customers find the biggest discount.
We created it to help small businesses build loyal customers.
We did not create another daily-deal company designed to take as much as possible from the merchant.
We created a platform that gives independent businesses access to the same kinds of tools, technology, advertising power and customer-retention opportunities that large corporations have enjoyed for decades.
Go Local brings together:
- Collective advertising
- Customer rewards
- Customer acquisition
- Customer retention
- Merchant-controlled promotions
- Local media
- Community partnerships
- Transparent reporting
- A growing network of independently owned businesses
The goal is bigger than building another rewards program.
Our goal is to create an operating system for local commerce—one that helps independently owned businesses work together, compete together and grow together.
Because when local businesses succeed, local families succeed.
Local jobs are protected.
More money stays inside the community.
And the businesses that make our neighborhoods unique have a better chance of being here for the next generation.
Go Local Rewards exists to give small businesses the power of big business—without asking them to give up their independence.
Alone, local businesses compete. Together, local businesses win.
