Privacy Policy

Go Local Rewards LLC • golocalrewards.org • Effective Date: August 8, 2026

1. Introduction

Go Local Rewards LLC ("Go Local Rewards," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Go Local Rewards platform at golocalrewards.org and related applications and services (the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.

By using the Platform, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide

  • Account information: name, email address, telephone number, postal or ZIP code, and password.
  • Profile and program preferences, including the Cause you select and your contribution setting.
  • Purchase evidence you submit, such as receipt images and the transaction details shown on them.
  • Communications you send us, including support requests and cause nominations.

2.2 Payment information

When you add a payment method, your card details are collected and tokenized by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. We do not receive or store your full card number or security code. We retain only a payment token, the card brand, the last four digits, and the expiration date, which we use to display your saved method and to process authorized charges.

2.3 Card-linked transaction information

If you choose to enroll a credit or debit card for automated purchase detection, your card is registered with the applicable payment card networks through a third-party card-linking service provider. That provider tokenizes your card; we do not receive or store your full card number.

Once enrolled, we receive transaction notifications when you make a purchase with that card at a participating merchant location. These notifications include the merchant name and location, the transaction amount, the date and time, and the last four digits of the card. We do not receive itemized purchase contents, and we do not receive information about your purchases at businesses that are not participating merchants.

Enrollment is entirely optional and requires your express consent. You may withdraw a card at any time through your account settings, after which we will stop receiving transaction notifications for that card.

2.4 Information collected automatically

  • Device and connection information, including IP address, browser type, and operating system.
  • Usage information, including pages viewed, searches run, and features used.
  • Approximate location derived from IP address or, with your permission, from your device, used to show nearby participating merchants.
  • Cookies and similar technologies, as described in Section 7.

2.5 Information from third parties

  • Participating merchants, regarding transactions and reward issuance.
  • Our payment processor, regarding the status of charges and payouts.
  • Our card-linking service provider, regarding enrolled-card transactions as described above.
  • Mapping and business-information providers, used to display merchant listings.

3. How We Use Information

  • To create and administer your account and authenticate you.
  • To calculate, issue, adjust, and reverse Reward Points, and to maintain the program ledger.
  • To verify claimed purchases and detect duplicate, inaccurate, or fraudulent activity.
  • To process payments, including sales tax, gratuity, and recurring program fees.
  • To direct voluntary contributions to the Cause you select.
  • To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
  • To send transactional messages about your account, rewards, and charges.
  • To send marketing communications, where permitted, subject to your right to opt out.
  • To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Platform.
  • To comply with legal obligations and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

  • Participating merchants: limited information necessary to confirm a reward transaction and reconcile program activity. Merchants do not receive your card number.
  • Service providers: payment processing, card-linking, email delivery, hosting, mapping, analytics, and customer support vendors, each permitted to use your information only to perform services for us.
  • Causes: aggregate contribution amounts. We do not share your contact information with a Cause unless you ask us to.
  • Legal and safety: where required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or where necessary to protect our rights, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
  • With your consent, for any other purpose disclosed at the time.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and thereafter as needed to comply with legal, tax, accounting, and audit obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements.

Financial and ledger records are maintained on an append-only basis with corrections recorded as reversing entries, so historical records are preserved rather than overwritten. Account deletion removes your information from active use but does not delete records we are required to retain.

6. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, role-based permissions, audit logging, and third-party tokenization of payment card data so that card numbers do not reside in our systems.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure usage, and improve the Platform. Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies; doing so may limit functionality.

We do not use cookies to serve third-party behavioral advertising.

8. Your Choices and Rights

  • Access and correction: you may view and update your account information at any time through the Platform.
  • Card linking: enrollment is optional and you may withdraw an enrolled card at any time.
  • Payment methods: you may remove a saved payment method, subject to any active recurring obligations.
  • Marketing: you may unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any such message. Transactional messages about your account will continue.
  • Deletion: you may request deletion of your account and personal information, subject to records we are required to retain.
  • Location: you may disable device location permissions in your device settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccuracies, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise any right, contact us using the details in Section 12. We will verify your identity before acting on a request.

9. Children

The Platform is not directed to children and is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

10. Location of Processing

We operate in the United States and process and store information in the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on the Platform and revise the Effective Date above. Where a change is material, we will provide additional notice and, where required, obtain your consent. We maintain a record of the version you accepted and the date of acceptance.
