Went in for an oil change. Technician opened the engine air filter housing without permission and recommended replacement of the filter. It was dirty, so I agreed to have it replaced. Upon leaving the shop, my vehicle’s engine light turned on, so I pulled into an auto parts store to pull the diagnostic codes. Turns out the technician lost one of the factory air filter bolts and replaced it with a generic one without a proper washer and then failed to re-tighten the housing fully, which threw an intake air-suction code. I was able to see the edge of the paper air filter and could turn the bolts of the housing without tools. The manager at the auto parts store recommended I return to DipStix to get the issue resolved. I decided not to return, as I lost trust in the technician to handle things properly. Ended up ordering a set of replacement bolts and secured the air filter housing myself. Will not be returning to this establishment.

Unfortunately, I had an original positive experience here and even wrote a positive review. I tried them for the first time and a month later brought my car in for routine maintenance at dealership and was informed this shop cracked my oil pan. It a $900 repair. I called the owner to see if they could help. He was incredibly rude and not willing to help. Avoid this place.

Got an oil change at Dipstix in December 2025. The employee was on his phone the entire time and clearly not paying attention while working on my car. A few months later, I started having serious issues and spent over $4,000 on repairs. When I recently got another oil change, I was told my car only had HALF the oil it should have because the gasket on the drain bolt was never put back on—so my oil had been leaking out for months. This kind of negligence can seriously damage an engine, and it cost me a lot of money. I’m not someone who leaves bad reviews over one bad experience, but this level of damage combined with zero customer service to make it right is completely unacceptable. I called to let them know what happened, while the first employee i spoke with was very polite, the owner, Chris, was extremely rude and kept asking, “What do you want from me?” No apology, no accountability, and no effort to fix the situation. Excellent customer service, the friendliest staff and the quickest oil change I've ever gotten! If you're in the Baton Rouge area and need an oil change, DipStix is the only place you should go.
